Ioja Sinesie was born on 23 April 1916 in the family of the priest Romul Ioja from Neagra, Arad County. He attended primary school in his hometown, then secondary school in Brad, Hunedoara County, graduating in 1933. He then attended the Arad Theological Academy, graduating in 1942.
