The Confession of Faith of Father Haralambie Vasilache in the documents of the Security Service
Born into a family of believers from Roșieștii Fălciului, Haralambie Vasilache studied theology with his brother Vasile and became one of the most popular priests and preachers in Moldavia.
After stays in Cernica and Neamț, he arrived at the Pocrov Hermitage. Here he was watched by the Security Service, from whom we even have fragments of his sermons.
Thus, on 23 March 1959, Father Haralambie said: “The Orthodox Church is the nourishment of the soul of all Orthodox believers and goes back to the first centuries of Christianity. The icons also date back to the first centuries of Christianity. In the 8th century the Apuseni split and remained Protestant, as they are today. We, the righteous, Orthodox Christians, have remained faithful to our Church and to the icons of the Holy Fathers, with the gift of Almighty God. Let us not lose hope in the Church of Christ, which is the food of our souls. In all ages the Church has triumphed. Come and worship in our holy Church, for the highest faith in the world, which has endured from age to age, is the Orthodox Church”.
