Virgil Maxim – “by his intelligence, his common sense and by his attitude he aroused the admiration of all”

Gafencu had two other friends with whom he was inseparable, but no matter how hard I search my memory, I cannot remember their names. Oh yes! Here’s one: Virgil Maxim, 8th grade. Handsome, well-developed, taller than Mazăre and Naidim, with a rich face, thoughtful, he won everyone’s admiration with his intelligence, common sense and rafined attitude. (Fr. Nicolae Grebenea – Memories from the Darkness, page 214)
