Thoughts and impressions after the launch of the book “The Dead Return Home”
On 23 June 2014, I attended the presentation of Cornel Constantin Ciomâzgă’s book, The Dead Return Home, at the National Library of Romania. As announced, the event began with sublime music performed by artists from the Romanian Athenaeum, followed by a film essay directed by Cristina Chirvasie. The setting perfectly prepared the audience for the book’s profound themes. In her introductory speech, Ms. Chirvasie reminded us of Petre Țuțea, who confessed that he could not write negatively about his fellow Romanians.
